This is really not a complete rewrite/redraw of the first SummerDrives release. It is however just the completed package as it was intended the first time around. I had limited time back in may because of my pending exams, so I had to postpone the completion of the set until, well...now :P So enjoy the SummerDrives. Now as a complete replacement package for all the drivetypes in OS X Leopard.

Hello again from dane land. First of all thank you SO much for all the kind replies on the whole baby presentation subject.
To the subject at hand, I made some icons for various chat programs a couple of nights ago. Nothing fancy, just a result of a quick 2 hour Photoshop night session, drinking a few beers with the radio playing late night house music. So enjoy :)

Today I present to you: The Jonas Rask legacy continuation.

My girlfriend is due november 6th, and all I can tell you guys is that I'm super thrilled. All the scans so far indicate a healthy baby, and mommy is doing quite fine too. So all in all a good pregnancy so far :)
We've decided to hold off on knowing the sex of the baby, so we're in for a surprise.
Thats it for today really. Just wanted to share my joy with the world :)

What is all this purple about? Well, I have been smitten, bitten and stricken by the color purple (no, NOT the Oprah Winfrey movie one! )
So why not update my old colloquy replacement icon. One of the little guys from the old icon had it, and left, so...sorry 'bout that.

The malstrom sucks you in

After the release of the SummerDrives, I got a lot of requests for the preview background. It's basically the vortex image included in Leopard topped with a lot of overlay blended layers of various colors. I used a clone brush tool to extend the stars, hence making it a 1920x1200 resolution wallpaper since the original was a 1437x952 resolution image (!!!). Anyways, I played around with some zoom effects that I found at a tutorial site, and added those as well. The results are 2 wallpacks; Malstrom and Shine. So click the previews to download

Hello to all you fine people who read this little blog.
It's been a while. Lots of things have happened in my life since I last wrote on here, but I will tell about them in due time. I turned 28 yesterday, and I thought why not be a good old lad and release some icons on my first day of 28'hood.
So I cranked up some drives. 5 in total. These were originally meant as drives for the aluminum folder sets, but I already made a different concept for those. Anyways, enjoy the summer, enjoy the drives. And hopefully I'll write some more on here over the summer. Stay tuned. :)

Transmit Toolbars

So I took a natural step and decided to do these leopard finder style toolbars for my favorite ftp program as well. So here are some more pixels as grey buttons :)

I stumbled upon a new small ftp app the other day called flow. It's built for Leopard only, but the toolbar icons wasn't very leopard'y to me. So I made a quick mod of the toolbar icons, resulting in a finder button type interface. The app still suffers from some child diseases, but I'm certain that the guys at extendmac will fix it soon.

On another note I made some progress on my aluminum folder set. I completed the etched symbol versions both in black and aluminum, plus I'm getting close to finishing the regular versions in all sizes. Progress is, however, very slow because I'm VERY busy with my internship at the hospital. And while on the subject of medicine, I thought I'd show you a little preview of aluminum containing my first medically themed icon. Building bridges is fun eh :P

Safari Replacement

I updated my Ekisho Safari icon to 512x512. But I've moved a lot technically since then, so I spiffed it up a little bit by making a new globe and screwing around with some details and the metal parts. The pack includes 5 different colors, so there should be one to fit most dock layouts.

EyeTV Controller mod

I finally finished my small controller mod for Elgatos brilliant EyeTV software. I never particularly liked the chrome controller they have in their program, so I decided to do my own. It's inspired by the iMac as well as some of Florians old plastic'y GuiKits. This works with EyeTV 3 as well as 2.51 (Those are the versions that I have tested it on). I do not have a digital receiver, so there are possibly some things that I have missed. If any of you encounter anything, please write me a mail, and I'll take in a digital-tester™ or two :)

A small icon release today. I did this one purely for my own enjoyment, since I basically LOVE my TV. This can probably not be applied to anything at all. But I thought I'd share anyways. A bit of random iconing never hurt anyone, right.
I included two versions. One on the stand, and one that is wall mounted.

MacBook Air and Office 2008

I guess there was something in the air afterall. That little thing is just pure sexyness. I absolutely love the design. Black keys reminds me of the long lost PowerBook Ti. The curves are such a treat. GREAT JOB APPLE!

On another note Office 2008 got released. Me and the guys over at Enhancedlabs just might have had a little something to do with the UI of that thing. So go check out my showroom, or hit up the NEW ENHANCEDLABS. And I do encourage you to buy the suite. It's an amazing update which I've had the pleasure of testing for a while.

Now go buy Office, and install it remotely to your brand new MacBook Air.

Is there really something in the air?

A normal tuesday morning for me so far. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sipping my morning cup of coffee, reading the online paper. Nothing unusual. Or wait. Thats right, tonight danish time Steve Jobs will get on stage and present something new for me to drool over. Call me geeky, but trust me, this is one of my favorite times of the year.
Some of the guys at enhancedlabs are going, so make so to spot those orange business cards, and go over and say hello.

So is there really something in the air? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I want to thank Stephan Geyer for all the years of hosting. The guy did it absolutely free of charge. I am very grateful for that. Make sure you visit him at seph.ws I will most likely keep some of the releases for downloads at seph.ws, since I still have to figure out exactly what my deal with one.com entails.

Jonas Rask Design 4.0

Well whadda you know. I guess the little 3.5 update to my site kind of spawned a life of its own. I have had the ideas for my revamped site in the works for a while now. Today I found some really cool plugins for Rapidweaver. So yes. The site is still done in Rapidweaver. Heavily modded though! :)

Now make sure you go visit the updated download and showroom sections. I will be performing many small tweaks over the coming week. But the base version of 4.0 is what you see here.

Happy new years and a design update

The snow has melted and frosty has been put back in the freezer. Maybe he'll appear next year, who knows.
I took the chance to do a little graphic updating to the site. I was in a heavy metal kind of mood. So it's very metall'y :D
I also updated my hardware page with my current setup. Depending on what Jobs will present on tuesday the 15th at MWSF08, it might get another update soon.

I also have a small update on my aluminum folder set. It's coming along slowly, but at a steady pace. I am contemplating whether to do some aluminum style application icons for some widely used apps as well. But time will tell. But for now here's a small preview. And, yes. the 32x32's are not head on. Maybe the 16x16's will be. But I'm just so sick of head-on folders by now.
